Following the announcement below, this forum has been temporarily closed while maintenance takes place on our domains and servers. We hope to be back as soon as possible!
As you may know, we moved host about a month ago to get away from free hosting and onto a professional, paid hosting solution. This meant that we had less downtime on the site and databases. However, unfortunately as CAWs.ws continues to grow, it seems that nowhere has the resources to cope with our load, including the host that we are on now.
As a result of this, we are going to have to move the site again, in order to prevent either massive slowdowns, loss of features, or termination of our account completely. This time however, to ensure that we won't have any problems, we are moving to our very own server! This means no other websites will be running off the same server, so the site should be very fast. We'll be able to use all the server's resources that we want.
In short, this means that there may be a few days of downtime on the way. As with last time, we'll try to keep you updated, and try to keep all sections of the site that we can online for as much of the time as possible. I suspect that due to the large database transfer, the forum will suffer the most from the move. Last time it went very smoothly though and it was only down for a day, so hopefully it will go well this time too.
We are not sure exactly when this will happen, but we hope it will ALL be within the next few days. The forum will go offline just before we begin switching servers. Hopefully the main site will be up for most of the time.
Thanks for your patience and continued support,
The Admins
Just to clarify the answers to a few questions people have asked:
* We sincerely hope that by moving to the new server we will never have to move the site again.
* Once moved, as with last time, all addresses will remain the same. We will stay on caws.ws, the forum will still be invision, etc. There will be no visible changes for you to worry about.
* No data will be lost (ie. CAWs, posts, user accounts, PMs, etc etc)
^^^^SCA is moving again!
